Lurch is a private app used by one family (the Adams family). Only adults the family has invited can sign in. This page explains what Lurch does with information, including data from Google accounts.
What Lurch collects
- From Google sign-in: your name, email address and profile photo. Lurch uses your email to check that you're an invited family member and shows your name and photo to the family.
- From Google Calendar, only if you connect it: the list of your calendars and the events on the calendars you choose to share. Lurch only reads your calendars.
- Things the family enters in Lurch: names, nicknames, colors and similar family details.
How it's used and shared
- Calendar events are shown only to the signed-in adults of the family, in the way the calendar's owner chooses: full details, "Busy" only, or not at all.
- Lurch does not sell data, show ads, or share data with anyone outside the family.
- Lurch does not use Google data to train AI or machine-learning models.
Lurch's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Storage and security
- Data is stored on infrastructure the family controls and is sent only over encrypted connections.
- Google access tokens are encrypted at rest. Sign-in sessions are stored only as one-way hashes.
- Calendar events are kept as a short-term copy of what's in Google Calendar and refreshed from Google.
Your choices
- You can disconnect Google Calendar at any time from Lurch's Calendars page. This deletes your calendar connection and the copies of your events from Lurch.
- You can also remove Lurch's access from your Google account at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
- To have everything about you deleted, contact us below.
